ADVENTURE TO THE HAPPINESS

Located at the center of the mountains of northern Negros Occidental, Don Salvador Benedicto was established by consolidating all the  remote barangays of San Carlos City and the towns of Calatrava and Murcia which were apparently neglected due to inaccessibility. Its founding was finalized on February 9, 1983 upon the approval of Batas Pambansa Blg. 336 by former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos. The legislation was authored by Assemblymen Alfonso Garcia and Jose Varela, Jr.

The town is named after the late Vice Governor Salvador Benedicto who played an important role in the setting up of a Revolutionary Government in Negros Island particularly in Brgy. Igmaya-an, when the country was occupied by the Japanese during World War II.

The territorial formation of Don Salvador Benedicto is composed of two barangays from the Municipality of Murcia (Pandanon and Igmayaan), three barangays from the City of San Carlos (Kumaliskis, Bunga, and Pinowayan-Prosperidad) and two barangays from the Municipality of Calatrava (Bagong Silang-Marcelo and Bago-Lalong).

Sixty percent of the residents speak Cebuano and the rest speak Ilonggo and other dialects.  The people have adopted the art of kali otherwise known as arnis or escrima as their cultural heritage.  The traditional martial arts of the Filipino people since the 7th century, it is designed for physical training, mental development and spiritual upliftment as well as strengthening of moral value foundation.  The craft is highlighted every year during  the celebration of the Kali-Kalihan Harvest Festival that also showcases various cultural and traditional activities of the people.

MY  FIRST ADVENTURE IN DON SALVADOR

Don Salvador Benedicto, also known as Salvador Benedicto, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. The municipality is also dubbed as “The Summer Capital of Negros Occidental” due of its climate, which is similar to Baguio City. I LIKE TO ADVENTURE THIS PLACE BECAUSE THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE THAT WAS TRAVEL IN MY LIFE.I always look forward going to San Carlos City via the Negros Translink Highway where you pass by the Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto. Good roads, cooler climate, and a beautiful scenery will keep you awake for the whole trip.  .

Don Salvador Benedicto’s cooler climate will remind you of Tagaytay or even Baguio City. Whereas Baguio is the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Don Salvador Benedicto is the Summer Capital of Negros Occidental . This is why some people would refer to DSB as the “little Baguio” of Negros Occidental.he statue is within the park and community center constructed by the Bacolod City Host Lions Club in partnership with the Kaohsiung Port Lions Club in Taiwan and the Ichon Lions Club in South Korea. There’s also a viewing deck where visitors can see the scenic backdrop of the mountains and a bucolic view of the river and rice terraces below.

The statue is already getting a lot of attention from passersby and a lot of people have posted photos of it in social networking sites and blogs. However, I have to agree with Errol Gatumbato, the statue seemed out of place at the North Negros Natural Park (NNNP). I know the Lions Club has many projects in the area which benefited a lot of people in the community. I just wished they hadn’t built the lion statue. Besides, there’s already a marker which claim it as a Lions Club project.

ADVENTURE IN CAMPUESTOHAN WITH MY FRIENDS…

Since a year ago there so much new things in this place! The iconic wind mill is very nice, so nicely built and the cascading waters sounding it makes it like a real one somthing to behold indeed! What’s more better is thier additional water facilities! I wish I brought with me my swimming gears… hehehe!Highly recommended for only P150 entrance fee and just about 49mins away from Bacolod City proper it’s worth it!

The place is far, and you will need to allocate some time for travel time. The place itself though is worth the drive. I recommend staying the night over if you can spare the time. There are a lot of picture worthy shots, and the cottages for their overnight stays are very charming.

Resorts Negrense, a 14 hectare Resort and Hotel located at Brgy. Punta Taytay Bacolod City. They have 2 Restaurants at the resort, large swimming pool, kiddie playground, boating lagoon, zip line and social halls for weddings and other events.

A 14-HECTARE resort and hotel development of the Rojas family adjacent to a long stretch of beach in Barangay Punta Taytay is poised to change the landscape of the south portion of Bacolod City. The just-unveiled Resorts Negrense offers a signature Negrense brand of service and hospitality leaving guests the “sweetest” experience, its owner Enrique “Nene” Rojas said. Rojas, a sugarcane planter himself, said the concept of the development is to further sell Negros Occidental especially its capital Bacolod City to draw more people to the province.
The resort will open Its swimming pool, kiddie playground and casitas to day trippers, along with its two restaurants, Comedor that offers a delectable Spanish inspired menu and The Grill, where guests can order their favorite food, perfect for the whole family, especially prepared by its Food and Beverage Director, Mia Poblador. i ask myself.the
